HEBA project

Fourteen women from the local community organisation HEBA responded to the themes in the What Women Want exhibition and developed a number of these themes for their own creative work. The medium of the umbrella was chosen as it is an effective and visible way through which to express the women's creative statements. You will find six umbrellas distributed throughout the displays. Alongside this project an additional artwork was created – a banner, which you can also see displayed here, and which was inspired and informed by the collections held at The Women's Library.
