Following an extended period of exhibition inactivity through the wars, the post war period presented a time of renewed growth for the museum: |
After the Second World War the lack of staff, furniture and fittings made exhibition work disappointingly slow. Unfortunately, funds did not allow the installation of exhibits planned for display during the Festival of Britain in 1951. Some advance was however made in the late 1950s with the redevelopment of the Botany Gallery and the Evolution exhibition in the main hall.... 9 |
